Area adults are invited to participate in an award-winning musical with messages about environmental responsibility, corporate mismanagement and petty small town politics. An hilarious tale about when water is worth its weight in gold, the story imagines a future where citizens are charged fees for using public facilities regulated by a single monopoly. It is about capitalism, corruption and, yes, even love.
Auditions are Thursday, June 17 and Friday, June 18 from 7 to 9 pm at Hudson High School, 69 Brigham Street. Call backs, if needed, will be June 19. Performances will be presented Friday, August 13 and Saturday, August 14, also at Hudson High.
“Urinetown” is a dreadful title, but a socially responsible story that teaches us what the future could bring if environmental sensitivity is not implemented now. Director is Sarah Worrest of Hudson.
