2016 Concert by the River’s Edge Program
The chorale performs during at the annual Holiday Concert and in the late spring at the Concert By the River’s Edge along with the River’s Edge Community Band and the River’s Edge Youth Chorus. Regular rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings at Hudson High School from 7 – 9 pm. Singers are encouraged to join at any time.
We are pleased to announce John Volpe as the new River’s Edge Chorale Director!
John Anthony Volpe earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts, with a specialization in vocal performance. He is currently working toward his master’s degree in Theology and Sacred Music. In 2002, he was the winner of the National School Choral Award. Since then, he has performed in many venues and with various groups, both liturgical and secular. These include: performance in 2008 with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops, as part of the PBS debut of Handel’s “Messiah Rocks,” and, in his role as Prince Christopher in Act Andover’s production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.” In 2010, he released a debut CD called Sacred Memories – a collection of liturgical music favorites. Classically trained, John currently works as Director of Music at St. Michael Parish in Hudson, Massachusetts, where he provides leadership in liturgical music, vocal coaching, choral conducting, and accompaniment on both piano and organ. In 2014, he conducted and recorded Christmas Joy, a CD of Christmas favorites featuring the choir at St. Michael parish in Hudson.
