WORKSHOPS (stay tuned for program selection and pricing of extended day programming)
Weekly, 12:45pm-2:15pm

Examples of workshops from years past…

Workshop 1: WHO WILL YOU BE NEXT?
(Character Development)
In this workshop, participants will explore different characters each day and discover what brings a character to life onstage. We will work with costumes, props, voices, silly walks, and so much more! Participants will play and learn about characters through theater and art. An excellent way for children to explore the different facets of their personality and what makes us who we are as people.

Workshop 2: LET YOUR FEELINGS SHOW!
(Social & Emotional Development Through Theater Arts)
Everyone has feelings and in this workshop we will explore feeling them and recognizing them in others. Through games and activities, participants will discover the tools that will allow them to be more empathetic towards others, as well as being more self-aware, and possibly self-regulated in a way that feels organic and fun.

Workshop 3: WHERE THE SIDEWALK BEGINS
(Explore the art of performing poetry)
Participants will bring favorite and classic poems to life through performance and theater. Participants will read and discuss poems by authors like Shel Silverstein, Emily Dickinson, and Jack Prelutsky, eventually turning them into performance pieces. Participants will also be led through poetry writing of their own, sparking an interest in poetry that will carry on long after the workshop is complete.

Workshop 4: MUPPET MAKING
(The Art of Puppetry)
Do you love to put on puppet shows? Or would you and you’re not sure how? Come and find out! Throughout the week, we will learn how to make simple puppets out of every day household objects you’d find around the house. The type of puppets we make will be up to you! Hand puppets, marionettes, shadow puppets will all be explored.
