The Arts Alliance is a non-profit arts agency bringing a rich variety of arts and arts education programs to Hudson and Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Managed by a staff of five, a board of directors, and a wonderful cadre of volunteers, the Arts Alliance is supported by over 350 members including individuals, families, organizations and businesses from 25 area communities. In addition to membership, major sources for support include earned program income, corporate and business contributions, foundation grants, and public support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Hudson Cultural Council, Marlborough Cultural Council, Town of Hudson, and City of Marlborough.

Our vision is to:

Inspire keener interest in all aspects of the arts
Foster understanding and appreciation of all cultural diversity
Integrate the arts into community life
Encourage enjoyment of the arts in everyday life

The Arts Alliance began in 1988, when a group of local parents and teachers created the Hudson Schools Cultural Committee to increase cultural programming for school children and their families. The committee developed the Community Arts Series in 1988 and the Hudson Drama Workshop in 1989. In 1990, a committee was established to form an arts agency, which was called the Arts Alliance. In addition to the Community Arts Series and the Hudson Drama Workshop, the Arts Alliance began producing visual art exhibits, a newsletter, and a calendar. In 1993, current programs were expanded and after school classes, area arts meetings, and other events were added. The Arts Alliance became increasingly known at the regional level.

In 1997, the Arts Alliance was recognized at the state level with a Commonwealth Award from the Massachusetts Cultural Council for its "outstanding work in fostering the development of community cultural activities and arts in education programs that have broadened cultural opportunities and the quality of life for area residents."

We are proud to now offer programs for children, youth, and adults encompassing the full spectrum of the arts. We hope we can offer you the enjoyment and enrichment we know the arts can bring.
